Rivets to prevent Delam like K2

You are only lightly passing the flame over things somewhat slowly though.. It should not scorch the material or make it shiny. No i haven't had sidewalls pop off due to flaming.

I disagree! The K2 rivets were implemented shortly after prototypes of the first commercial PE hit the market. They served a structural function for about 18 months before k2 figured it out and introduced hydraulic boosters to their press and refined a few materials in the tip (because their factory twins aren't a full length core). Only after getting things right did they decide to keep it for the "cool" factor as you mentionedtwizzstyle wrote:Yeah first thing's first - make it so it doesn't delam. You shouldn't need to do rivets, K2 does not do it to prevent delam, they do it cause it looks cool (that's subjective of course...)

On another note, I have used rivets before and they worked well when I had delam problems back in the day. The cheapest and easiest method is to use a copper pin/washer and pound them together with a ball and peen hammer. This can be done by drilling holes in your finished ski wide enough for the pin to get through and then nailing the pin flat against a malleable washer. Here's an example:

i got the same washers as you did in the begging havent gotten around to returning them yet so glad to hear a vote of confidence in them atleast while learning. i really like the idea of boosters on the tip and tail sections. do you know how they attached them to the cat track. i really like how on3p does it kinda want to copy that. i got a new mold cnc'd that is 3x the camper i want because of the way i do my casset i can not really heat for the bottom so hopefully the extra camber in the mold should compensate
i guess we will just have to wait, mei dropped the ball and it is taking them 6weeks for me to get our blanket...guess its just life.
