often overlooked tool for cutting fiberglass

Post by chrismp »

just a small detail, but i had to post this since i'm sooo damn happy with this purchase. i just bought a roller knife for five bucks at a local hardware store. i can't believe how easily this thing cuts through thick fiberglass mats! and the best part is, there are no airborne fibers!

sooo much faster than using scissors (even good ones!).

I use one now after I saw these guys use one too. Makes very clean cuts, no fraying.

What is funny is that we have gone back to using a nice pair of scissors. Find it cuts better and way better control.

for me it's the other way around. i've been using a pair of scissors (great ones) up until now, but i find it harder to make quick cuts without fraying the glass and as for the accuracy i just use a bar to guide the cuts with the roller cutter.
