Honeycomb rules. In this case you are looking at perforated paper honeycomb made with phenolic resin. Great stuff, incredible compressive strength, amazing flexural characteristics.
yea Hexcel made skis in the 70's - 80's. I had a pair. I know the material is strong but can it withstand the pressure a pneumatic press exerts, 40-80psi? Back in the day, Hexcel used AL honeycomb, after a few years of skiing they would lose the camber, but super light.
