Interesting they removed the edge in the tip but I guess if you're skiing powder the edge isn't that critical.

Honeycomb rules. In this case you are looking at perforated paper honeycomb made with phenolic resin. Great stuff, incredible compressive strength, amazing flexural characteristics.

IIRC Minimum order from Hexcel is a 4 x 8 sheet

yea Hexcel made skis in the 70's - 80's. I had a pair. I know the material is strong but can it withstand the pressure a pneumatic press exerts, 40-80psi? Back in the day, Hexcel used AL honeycomb, after a few years of skiing they would lose the camber, but super light.

How do you use a honeycomb and not end up filling the whole thing with epoxy and then how much does that actually help with weight?
