Salomon Monocoque - how exactely does that work?

Post by sanchezz »

I know Cap skis integrate sidewalls and the upper layer of cloth in one piece. Still you got a seperate bottom layer of cloth.

But how does Salomons Monocoque work? I claims to have only one piece replacing sidewalls, top cloth AND bottom cloth. How ist that supposed to work? Do you have a tube-like construction where you attach edges and base?

Does anyone have more information? I can't find anything at all online. If anyone had any pictures of sawn-through salomon, that be also very helpful.

Thanks. And nice pictures. But isnt this more of a profile cap construction?

profile cap = two basic structural piece: lower layer and upper cap

monocoque = one basic pice: dont have any clue how its supposed to work without using a lower belt. just leave it out? i have no clue...
