I am currently a senior at Souhegan High School in Amherst, New Hampshire. A graduation requirement is that we do a year long project called, Senior Project. For this project we have to research something that we enjoy and do an applied piece on the topic of our choice. For this project I would really like to design and make a pair of skis. I have been reading the website and it is something I am interested in. However, to get the idea passed I need a written proposal that explains what I will be doing. Another needed item is an outside expert to help the student, myself, work on the project. If anyone has any ideas on who I could talk to about this that would be awesome.
Thank You

I am a mechanical engineering student at UNH doing a senior project of my own. I've build a few pairs of skis and many other composite products. I'll offer any advice/help/etc. Our shop/apartment is in Somersworth and we ski Cannon every weekend if you are ever in the area looking to pick someone's brain.
I am also a teacher in Washington State. I have a couple students doing their senior project on ski and snowboard building. We have been making skis for two years now. What kind of shop do you have access to? Respond if you are really serious and we can talk and set up a conference call with students if you like.
