graphics on composites?

if I was wanting to put my graphics directly on my composites layers (fiberglass, aramid etc.) what type of paint or dye ect. should I use? I am worries about the paint preventing the composite from getting completely wetted out during lay-up?

When applying graphics directly to composites during the layup of wings for r/g gliders, builders use a layer of draftsmans mylar. The mylars are waxed (I use carnumba car wax) and them painted. You must paint in from the outside in. The layup is as usual and the maylars are placed on top of the wet out fabric. The wings are vac bagged and the paint sticks to the epoxy and peel off the mylars. The mylars also leave a smooth, sanding free finish. Not sure how this would work in a press w/ hoses. It should as the pressure is much higher.

Most use Krylin spray paint and I've had good luck with it. Also, make a test run or two to be sure it works with your setup. A foot long section of "core" and the fabric should be okay and test the compatibility of the paint and resin. Use several coats of wax too. It might take a few test pieces to get the technique down so don't be discouraged if the first test piece looks like crap. Good luck and please post photos.
