Telemark vs Alpine

Post by LJ »

I noticed that a lot of you guys are skiing on tele's, especially Kam and his mates. I just wanted to ask whether you design specifically for telemark skiing.....for example, different flex, different core profile?? I'm intending to set about making skiis for tele and alpine use, and just wanted to know if I should take the different techniques into consideration.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

LJ,
It would be my opinion that the ski would be the same. I tele and have seen many that mount "alpine" skis with tele bindings. Doesn't seen to affect them. I am mounted tele and can ski "alpine" with out any problems. What I would try to take into consideration would be the characteristics of the flex, length and dimensions to accomidate what you like to ski (powder, hard, crud, ect...).

Thanks for that....also just realised that there's a topic about this with loads of posts on page 9 of the forum.

But if anyone else fancies another debate, feel free!
