Quantity of carbon?

Post by megabeusch »

Hi all!
I'm preparing my second ski.
My first ski has A core band of carbon (180gr/m²). But, he is not very "nervous".

I would like a less flexible ski.

How much carbon quantity is efficient in a ski?

And more, with this carbon band, I would like to reduce the difference in height between the base and edges.

Thanks for helping!

In order to compensate for the edge tooth thickness, you would have to lay some material the entire length, from edge to edge, you're probably better off routing a channel the thickness of the edge, around the perimeter of the underneath of your core/sidewall, or use sidewalls wide enough and make them just a pinch thinner than the core.

900 g/m2 of glass = 300 g/m2 of carbon, roughly.
