Tele mounting position with Rockered skis

Post by Guest »

I was wondering if anyone had any input on or experience with finding a good spot for mounting tele bindings on rockered skis. I have searched and read all I could find on TGR and Ttips, but was hoping to get a bit more input.

I am mounting PM gear Brockers with BD 01's. The alpine mount is to center of boot based on the mark PM gear puts on the ski - this is probably where I will start.

The question I have is how to determine the effective edge with Rockered skis or what the running surface is. One method is to mount the ball of you foot at the center of the running surface - but this seems hard to figure with rockered skis. And it would depend on if you are skiing them in powder or hardpack - they perform very differently.

I do have the option of mounting them in a few locations and trying them on the snow - which will help determine the ultimate location. However, any ideas would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Peter

I mounted the bindings so that the 3-pin line in the middle of the ski, as I do usually. On some skis I mount bindings a 2 or 3 cm on the back, mainly for powder.

Rocker, fat skis are not done for hardpack. Forget about edges.
