Do any of you fine builders have a preference as to what kind of adhesive you use when laminating your cores?

I Probably should have done a search first, as it seems the topic has been answered. Unless anyone else has any suggestions...

A wood working magazine called Tauntons Fine Woodworking did a test on the strongest wood glue. Titebond 3 (green bottle) won. If the wood being glued together is clean, and fits well together, the glue line is stronger that the wood itself.
If at first you don't succeed, try try again.

Epoxy vs. Wood Glue

Post by yan0 »

Titebond III is great stuff - but like nearly all wood glues, it's water based. This isn't a huge problem, but it does affect the water content of the wood you're gluing up - as I'm sure you've seen from wood lying around, moisture warps wood. It's probably a mute point - the amount of glue you're putting on and the amount of time it'll be in contact with the wood for are small enough to not really matter, but if you're going for complete control, use epoxy. That said - I use Titebond III
