

The supportive end posts are made of 6" stanard c-channel. The cost for the c-channel was $140 inc. tax. It required exactly 20 ft.
I modeled this press the Kublai press most of you have seen. The only difference is the aluminum i-beams.
The distance between the two uprights (the throat) is 20". The length of the aluminum ibeams is 90". That would be enough room for a pair of 228cm skiis. A little long? yes, for sure, but maybe I want to make those ski jumping skiis

i have access to autodesk inventor and am currently learning how to use the FEA features. Here is a model of this press I made in inventor:

I have the tip/tail mold showing in this model, but no camber yet.
