Graphics

Post by skiernick »

HI guys.
I had a question on graphics. I have access to a plotter(a large printer) and I was thinking I could print my graphics out on some material that would go under my topsheet. I was thinking a material like mylar could work. Any ideas?

Thanks.[/b]

Will epoxy bond to mylar? I would test it out before using it in your skis. If it does that could look nice.

I wouldn't try mylar. I think it would be too weak and will not stick to epoxy. Skibuilders.com and snowboardmaterials.com both have or have had clear topsheet options.
I would inquire about UV resistant ink for your printer. Regular printer inks fade really fast in the sun. Do a test piece with the topsheet and graphic layer bonded with epoxy, leave it in the sun and see what happens. Make sure the paper bonds to the epoxy/lets it soak through.
Please post what you find out or already know about UV resistant inks for printers. I'm eager to print up some graphics on the large printer at my work.
