Environmentally friendly materials?

I am working on a group project through my university and we have been desperately trying to find alternatives to fiberglass. A friend of ours has used basalt, but we have been trying to find hemp that has been manufactured with similar properties to fiberglass sheets. If anyone knows of any suppliers or any alternative materials it would be appreciated.
