Re: Neb Powshape
Unfortunately it was raining here too. The "Föhn" winds brought us warm temperatures and rain :/
As for the epoxy fully curing. I usually leave my board to cure for about 5 days before I cut the flash and finish them. Some epoxies can take up to 7 days to fully cure depending on the conditions.
For a heat cure epoxy I would recommend Sicomin Greenpoxy with their SZ8525 hardener. They are a french company, so should be easy to get in france.

Ok thanks! I will let them cure longer then!
I ordered some Sicomin sa 8525. I was already using the Surf Evo Clear and Greenpoxy from them but I hadn’t found the 8525 yet. I had it sent to a friend’s house just over the border in France.
Here’s my latest board finished. I put a bunch of flax and carbon in there. I haven’t ridden it yet but I think this one is the best one yet. This would be my 5th board but I taught 2 friends how to make one in my shop so 7 total but I made 5 of them. It is coming along and I’m enjoying it!
Re: Neb Powshape
And a riding pic before the rain.
Re: Neb Powshape
Fortunately not! No new snow either though haha.
The new board looks great...the wavy parts of the flax/carbon almost look like wood grain.

Re: Neb Powshape
Oooh there was plenty of rain here. We had 80cm of dry snow on frozen ground in the valley, now its vanished ;(
Great Picture! Where was it taken?

Great picture, is was in Val d'Isère ?

Thanks! No, that was in Les Crosets, Suisse.
Yesterday was the last day of the season here and here’s the last board I built this year. I tried some wood veneer for the first time. It came out pretty good!
These are from a few weeks ago on the second to last board with the flax and carbon.

Re: Neb Powshape
Thanks for the tip on the Sicomin sz8525! That stuff is so much easier to work with than all the others I’ve tried. I really like it! It cures so fast at 90*.chrismp wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 10:55 pm Unfortunately it was raining here too. The "Föhn" winds brought us warm temperatures and rain :/

Cheers! Glad you like it!
Nice new board...looks like it has a little "spoon" in the nose?

Re: Neb Powshape
Thanks @chrismp ! That one rides the best so far. I’ve had some incredible days lately on that board!
No spoon nose but the tip spacer somehow didn’t want to sit flush with the core and climbed up on it. I managed to get this new one to sit flat by using epoxy instead of super glue when sticking the core and tip spacer together.
Here are some pics from the last few days. I’m getting some epoxy creeping under the edges on the nose, tail and ends of the effective edges. I wonder if I might have too much tension in the edges and they are not sitting perfectly flat? I’ll try and have the edges perfect next time around….
Walnut top sheet with Beech sidewalls and a Paulownia core.

Re: Neb Powshape
The new board is a little soft but carves so good and is super nice in the powder. I think I will make the core a tiny bit thicker on the next one. Here’s a pic from 2 days ago.
I’m not sure why there are 2 of the same photo.

Sweet! I was at Corvatsch on new years - unfortunately not nearly the amount of snow you guys have now haha
