Foam Cores?

Just found this stuff thinking about testing it for cores, what do you guys think?

I use a foam for the wakeboards but it's marine closed cell stuff, not sure how it compares to this though.

The material I use is very easy to work with, I prefer it over wood. The main consideration with using a foam is that it typically doesn't provide much bending resistance or stiffness to the laminate so the weight saving you get from the foam is offset slightly by the extra reinforcement needed to reach the bending strength and the stiffness of the ski/board

CHris, It's too heavy at 10lbs, balsa can be lighter and is much stronger. start googling Divinycell, last a foam, these are lighter 2 to 4, 6 pounds a cubic foot, well known about in the composites industry and probably what rossignol has used for so long. Sign foam is probably not engineered for being part of a light structural laminate.

Yup, just converted mine (80kg/m3), mine is just under 5lb/cu ft it's the lightest structural foam I've found (Gurit M series), they do a lighter version but the properties are significantly lower

No idea what exactly it is, but it's awesome, and those are my favorite skis.

I tried a couple foam core snowboards and broke both of them. If you find a good product let me know, maybe Ill try again.
