First, a useful answer: I use 0.032" 5052-H32 aluminum sheets: http://www.happymonkeysnowboards.com/Mo ... ion#Layers
Next, a fun rant!

No need to fix it to the mold, I just shove it into the press like I do with the cassette. It gets pressed into the mold by the firehose anyway. I have the same layers on top as well.
All layers in my press top to bottom are:
top mold
cat track
5mm hardboard
heat blanket
2mm aluminum sheet
board/ski layup
2mm aluminum sheet
heat blanket
5mm hardboard
bottom mold

I use more or less the same setup as you chrismp
Topmold
firehose
cattrack
4mm rubbersheet (no more cattrackmarks in the tip and tail area)
2 layers of 3 mm hdf
2mm alu
ski/board
2mm alu
heatblanket
2layers of 3mm hdf
bottom mold
my alu sheets get bent during the first pressing and I would like to find something that returned to flat. maybe stainless steel or something?
we only make oneoffs and as long as the next one is the same lenght or shorter there is no problem but the other way around can be sometimes. Usually I can bend it back and reuse it but I don't like it.
Any suggestions?
