We are two guys building our first pair of skis now, and we're wondering about one thing. The skis wll lose some camber after the pressing process, so we have to make the molds camber twice as high as the wanted camber that the skis will have.
Our question is if the same thing will happand to the tips?
Thanks for answers, we will update how things are working out.
That is a great question, since many of us are struggling with camber loss right now. My tips & tails have pretty well mantained their hight. If they've flattened at all, it would be only 5% at most. You should note that I did rivet them to prevent delamination, which will definitely help mantiain their shape.
Makes sense... Don't really know the name in english, but we'll try to use metal "pins" going trough the tips. I guess maybe they will help the tips holding their curves.
