Hi, was wondering if HMPE is the same as UHMWPE?

Thanks.

Yes.
Ultra high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE or sometimes shortened to UHMW), also known as high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) or high-performance polyethylene (HPPE), is a subset of the thermoplastic polyethylene.

hmm ... there are different grades that relate the molecular weight of the plastic http://www.ptpplastics.co.uk/whatis.html and have different mechanically properties.

Yeah should be the same. UHMWPE is not the same as HMWPE or HDPE though.
