Anyone ever hear of Carbon Fiber Stone (CFS), know anything about it or try it? I came across it while researching Zai skis at http://www.zai.ch/index.php?id=359&L=1 Nice looking skis... heavy on the marketing/philosophy but they are using CFS is some of their skis.
A company in Munich Germany called Techno Carbon makes it, http://www.technocarbon.de/
Some info I found from a GOOGLE search:

When I did a search for carbon fiber stone in the forum I didn't find anything but I did find this humorous thread on Zai:

And this one:
viewtopic.php?t=674&highlight=zai
And this one:
viewtopic.php?t=1717&highlight=zai
I think I found out all I need to know.

The impression I got was that it was a thin slice of stone (granite?) sandwiched between carbon fiber.Damon wrote:That's interesting... just a blend, no fiber/orientation?MontuckyMadman wrote:I thought we determined in another thread or from my own zai research that this was a basalt/carbon matrix.
