Materials in the Mont Blanc area

Post by tufty »

Hi all

Been lurking for a while, finally made the plunge to register. I'm going to make a skwal and a GS/SG snowboard. I've decided to go for full bamboo construction, horizontally laminated for various reasons, and maybe (but not certain yet) hemp layup, but I would be grateful if anyone in the area has local contacts for base, edges and VDS. I might be able to touch up my contacts at Dynastar (although I believe their contstruction has moved from Sallanches to Spain) or Quechua (who allegedly do their proto construction in Magland), or maybe even a couple of local-ish "artisanale" skibuilders, but any other contacts would be useful.

Thanks in advance

Simon

Salut Simon,

Va faire un tour sur ce site http://www.freeshaper.com/snow/vforum.php
C'est des gens qui font des skis/snow en France ils pourront surement t'aider.

(it's a link to a French forum about skibuilding... for those who don't speak French :p)
A bad day skiing is always better than a good one at work...

Merci Ben. Super, ce site, en effet, et pas mal de liens interessants.

Bonjour Simon,

I live in Chamonix and I'm working on prototype environmentally friendly skis - I think I should have most of the materials you are looking for.
