good initiative to this thread.
Maybe the information here could be usefull to other then swedes.
Kompsitfabriken-epoxy is cheaper then anything else i've seen in europe.
I've tested it once and i was pretty satified with the results so i made a big order to get the price down even more. I will come back with further results later, i hope it works otherwise i'll have to build a boat or something
Kompositfabriken epoxy works great. I have done a lot of work on my boat, and built a snowboard and 2 pairs of skis with their system 1, and have been satisfied... price isn't as good as QCM in the states, and I am not sure that quality is there either, but it seems to work well for the money.
Otherwise, if anybody needs edge damping strip, send me a private message and I can send you some for the same price as here on skibuilders (I bought it from them). I ordered a whole bunch, then found the roll that I had ordered previously, so now I have enough for about 50 pairs of skis... which is about 3 times more than I need.
And if anyone is in Norrbotten or Vasterbotten and wants help or tips, or to chat ski building, let me know. Jag ar amerikansk, men snackar svenska flyttande.
Want skis Better, Cheaper, Faster and much much Cooler... build your own.
Oh I forgot, Kompositfabriken has excellent prices on rolls of fiberglass, check out their leftovers section... I got enough glass for 15 pairs of skis and a lot of boat fixes for about 800:-

And, yet another tip that I found... You can get premade cores at any building supply store in Sweden... it is called 'limtra' and they cost 178:- for enough material for a pair of skis... conveniently 200 cm long and around 30cm wide. This can then be profiled as one piece and you save a huge amount of time and energy! It is pretty difficult to match this on price and quality... Maple will cost 300:- before you even start gluing pieces together.
