how to make my own heating blanket??

Post by mayak »

Hello guys,
Can anyone help me with making my own heating blanket? I've found silicone blankets suplier, and I'm planning to glue them together with resistance wire inside. But I dont know what kind of resistance wire should it be and how long it should be. The area of blanket is 110cm x 28cm (its not for ski press). I live in Europe so I have 220V sockets.
Thanks for help

Everything you need to do what you are talking about is on this site:
http://www.resistancewire.com/mainpage.php/
They supply all of the different types of alloys and have links to all of the necessary technical info of the individual alloys.

If you can build a diy blanket for a reasonable cost that actually functions the same as a commercial blanket I will be very much looking forward to seeing it.
