3 Ft. SJO Cord w/Tab (exiting narrow end)
Price for quantity of 1:
Qty. 2 or more:

3 Ft. SJO Cord w/Tab (exiting narrow end)

I'm looking to purchase one of the wide blankets or 2 of the narrow within the next week. As far as I know you can lump the same size in 220v in with my 120v to get the multiple quantity discount.

PM for details

Hi Guys,

I've just ordered some blankets from MEI but have been in touch with them quite a lot to organize a grouped order, they have been super nice and answered every single question I had pretty fast !

So, just not to ask them the same questions over and over, here is what's the deal with grouped orders :

- Blankets have to be the exact same size, this is the non-negociable point,
- There can be 220V and 110V in the same order,
- You can have thermocouples or not it's not a problem.
- I don't know it you can have different W/in2 though, it might change the wire...
- They agreed to ship to 2 addresses for my order and received payment from 2 different people (if you have a 10-people order it's gonna be a PITA for them though.. so be reasonable)

The discount they offer when buying 4 blankets instead of 4 is really appreciable and is very nice from them. If we want to be able to keep having a really nice service (and discount) it would be great to gather the questions and answers here, some might have already asked.

A blanket 2" too long or too short is no big deal in my opinion as the heat will travel through the aluminum sheet over (or under) your layup, just leave the board or skis in the press a little longer for safety if your skis/board are not 100% covered.

Happy blanket-buying !

Nice post Ben!

Somehow i missed it earlier this week and I just went through a very similar set of questions with Jim at MEI this afternoon. The only thing that i will add is that you CAN get different wattages in the blanket, as they just use a different gauge resisitve wire. I am assuming that this is within reason, i.e. if the quote is $200 for a 1000W blanket then you can't get a 10,000W blanket for the same price.

Jim has been very easy to work with and very understandable, i have been bugging him since June about this.

P.S. we should get this info stickied (or is that epoxied?)

Bump

will be ordering a few 14x80 blankets next week, you pick the wattage and voltage. The price is pretty darn good, and raw materials just went up so this price is lower then what you will get quotes on Monday!
