bonding rubber

Post by doughboyshredder »

vds seems to bond well. What about full sheets of rubber? Sheets can be ordered with a texture. I assume that would help with bonding. Is there any acid etching that needs to be done, or is heat treating enough? Obviously there are different types of rubber. What type is vds? Would some types bond better than others?

Any ideas?

Qcm sells a chemical treatment called chemlock 7701. It is a treatment for rubber bonding.

I have some but haven't tried it yet. If you want some to try out, let me know.
