profile cap = two basic structural piece: lower layer and upper cap
monocoque = one basic pice: dont have any clue how its supposed to work without using a lower belt. just leave it out? i have no clue...

I know Cap skis integrate sidewalls and the upper layer of cloth in one piece. Still you got a seperate bottom layer of cloth. But how does Salomons Monocoque work? Why do you usually use the same composite over and under your core? Wouldn't it make more sense to use different materials? E.g. carbon under the core makes sense since carbon is really stiff and therefore is good under tension when the ski is flexed. But since it is so stiff carbon also tends to br...
