A question to the swedes, epoxy...

Post by MartinJern »

Has anyone tried the epoxy from kompositfabriken or Nils Malmgren?
The epoxy from Kompositfabriken is less then half the price.
difference in quality?... :?

I’ve used the epoxy from Nils Malmgren for two pars of skies and so far it has worked great. Rumours say it is the same epoxy that is used in Hendryx’s skies. Not the cheapest epoxy though.

I talked to the lab-guys at malmgren and they said they sold resin to several ski manufactures but its a bit too expensive for my taste... I went for kompsitfabrikens and it seem to work, i have only made one board which I for natural reasons havnt tried yet.
Im going to do some serious flexing once the epoxy is cured comletly.

I've built a couple of golf club sets. Using the usual epoxy stuff at the local gas station and none of the heads has come of...yet...:-)

For my skis I use "West System", yellow label, from a local boat service shop. The price seems to be what you can excpect, 510:-/1,2 kg

I saw mr Graf using it, so I guess it's alright...
