How much would all the equipment to make the skis cost to make? And what are the basic tools you need to make the equipment?

Thanks

i'll try my best to answer.

here are the BASIC tools need for a pneumatic press:
- electric drill
- clamps
- jigsaw
- sander
- router/handheld electric planer
- compressor

but keep in mind that with these tools you are dependent upon your local lumber supplier to rip your wood into strips. most will do it for about $0.50 a cut.

here are the estimations of cost for the equipment:
- pneumatic press (like this one) = $185
- core profiler = $10-$25
- bladder = $10-$25
- mold = $15

am i missing anything?

www.harborfreight.com - if you are feeling cheap and dont mind poor quality tools

www.sears.com - if you are feeling rich and silly

Best deals on tools are garage sales if you know your tools and the vendor dosen't :)

^ thanks!

i would definitely stay away from the cheap Harbor Freight brand if you are buying power tools. i bought a router and belt sander from them and let's just say they'll be trash soon. the sander doesn't turn off anymore. cheap tools are scary! however, Harbor Freight does have some good deals on other stuff like drill bits, saw blades, and other junk.

I spent:
40 euros for the router
around 100 euros for hand tools and spare wood
100 euros for wood, glass, epoxy, base and edges for one pair of skis.

I used the vacuum pump at the University...

wow i thought the pneumatic press would be much more expensive. i had been avoiding it because i dont have very much money at the moment, but i guess its alot more affordable then i thought :D . I was also wondering where, or how i can get the cylander for the edge bender. i read that they can be made, but im not sure how to go about doing so.
thanks
