Small CNC and tiling

Hi,

I have a very limited space and I cannot install a CNC that could fit the length of a ski 2+ m.

Has anybody here tried with a smaller CNC like a 4040 to tile the machining of the ski? If yes, how was your experience?

Have you also tried to do the profiling in the same way?

I don't have any experience, but I imagine it should be doable if you use milled reference marks on your cores that allow you to properly align the core on the machine bed.

Sorry, a little late. I used a 6040 CNC for machining my last snowboard core and that worked quite well. Just like what chris said, my 'working sections' have some centimeters of overlap, so at the end of each working section, the router drills the reference point (coordinate origin) for the next section
