Pre-cured Fiberglass
I have heard a lot about people using pre-cured, pre-tensioned sheets of fiberglass in snowboard layups. I am having a very hard time finding a source for these. Does anyone know where one might find these? Preferably in Canada but all suggestions are welcome.
Re: Pre-cured Fiberglass
Option snowboards first started using pre-cured and pre-tensioned glass in the 90's. The material is amazing but very $$. MOQ is also high of course. The company is called Armtex out of Canada. Here is the website. https://www.armtex.ca/en/
a few things to note.
1. When I have used it we have to use the same type of glass for the bottom layer because of the materials tension. If we didn't use it we found the bases to be heavily cupped and not fixable / rideable.
2. You also need a light fleece glass between the wood core and this pre-cured glass to stop the epoxy from getting squeezed out or else you will have bonding issues.
