Mould building material?

Most of the moulds that I have seen online are built out of MDF (medium density fibre board).
I have a bunch of 12mm chipboard plywood, would this work?
I was going to rip a bunch of it into 10cm widths, profile one side with a router and lament about 24-30 of them together for the mid section of the skis and make up tail and tip blocks.
I have enough material that I could make three or four different ski length moulds.
Any thoughts if this would be a suitable material to use for this?
