would a laminated aspen core be strong enough for park skiing?

i think aspen should be okay. i remember reading somewhere that K2 uses fir in the pistols and enemies and aspen seems somewhat comparable to fir. i also remember line using aspen for some of their cores (i think?) but may have switched to maple/aspen combos since then. if it's what you have, give it a shot.
