when you make the base of your ski out of laminated wood and profile it with a router and a jig you are not making it so that it flexes when you stand on it right? once the skis are pressed in the mold they will flex/smash downward when you step on them?

If they are still building cores the same way, Volkl used to profile the camber into their cores. It made good sense because the wood fibers
were not "flexed" into shape in the press. The core was in a relaxed condition when cambered in the press. I think that is what helped in
making their skis real snappy.
