Thicker edges = thicker bases ?

Talked to cdw and they have thicker edges for sale. Thing is I have a roll of standard base material would a thicker edge work on that or does a thicker edge require a thicker base ?

yes, unless you want to just grind down the edge material to the thickness of your base. I usually use 1.4mm base with a 1.3mm step height edge.

Ive done it both ways. Thicker edge thinner base and thicker base thinner edge and its tough to say what sucks more. Depends on your grinder and patience. If you held a gun to my head id say thicker base thinner edge sucks more but either way its a loss so dont do it unless you match it.
