Teeth on edges

Post by sam »

Can anyone tell me how far in the teeth on the edges go in towards the center of the ski? I am planing on cutting out a part of the base to accomadate for these to prevent having a concave base and need to know how much to trim off. Also how thich are they? Thanks.

I think it will be better to purchase some edges first, because all dimensions you are asking for do depend on the type of edge you are able to buy.

You are much better off cutting /routing the core above the edge than cutting into the base. I can't work out how you would ever be able to trim the base material with enough acuracy to work anyway.

profile 129 has a 7.7mm flange width from the outside of the edge. This is a common edge used in both snowboards and skis. It is 2mm thick, 2.2mm wide and a .6mm thick flange. Ski33 edge is 7.75mm.
If you can tell me what profile you have I can send you a detail of it.
