Great advice on the sidewalls, i'll go that route next time for sure... Not sure why I was trying to make it harder than it needed to betwizzstyle wrote:For the sidewalls, you nailed it - get your edges completely deflashed and smooth before routing. I put my skis in my tuning vises, which puts the ski on its side, and route each side like that. No need to push out the camber, router runs on the base, bearing on the edge.

I believe it was .25 inch (~6.3mm) thick acrylic sheet from home depot...heke wrote: nice looking skies. What is thickness of plastic you have in the mould?
Is it polykarbo plastic or ? I have 2 mm polykarbo-plastic, I think it is too soft with support system you have.
It was surprisingly stiff, and I didn't notice any sagging between ribs. I heated it up a bit as I clamped it to the mold because it felt like I was flexing it too much during installation.twizzstyle wrote:Looks like he's taping his bag to the mold surface, so there really isn't any load pushing the polycarbonate down between the ribs. The atmosphere is pushing on the bottom just as much as it's pushing on the top. I'd still want more ribs though, just the weight of the materials may be enough to make it sag?

I am nobody. Nobody's perfect, so I must be perfect.
My setup used the V2 auto-cycling venturi vacuum press kit from 'vaneersupplies.com' that runs off the pressurized air from a small air compressor.Akiwi wrote:No, It is with Vacuum.heke wrote:How does it work? It works with pressurized air?vinman wrote:creative vac set up, nice job.
