Hello everyone

I was just wondering in your experience how much to over compensate for relaxation of camber/tip and tail heights post un-moulding and de-flashing?

I am aiming for a 70mm tip, 15mm camber and a 45mm tail.

I'll use a vacuum press, heated underneath and on top (electric blanket!). I leave the pump running for 10 hrs, leave the heat on for a further 14 and then cool in the mould for a further 12 hrs.

Anyone have a view?

it always depends on your layup: The thicker and stiffer the wood, the less camber etc you will get. The stronger the total fibre amount is, the more you will get. Typical numbers are that you keep 50-65% of the camber, and about 80% of the tip/tail. If you have huge tip and tailspacers and pre-bend them, you will keep nearly 100% of tip/tail.

Another thing:
15mm camber? Are you sure you want that?

hi, I agree with pmq - 15 mm camber - that is huge! Even 10 mm per ski is quite a lot. How long is your camber and how long is the ski?
