core springs out of rocker mold

past ski tips we used thick base and preformed to fit bottom mold- it would lay nice to the shape---we have used drywall nails and taper sanded the heads down to "razor thin" and glued them to the base for alignment with matched core holes ----problem now--trying first rocker ski based on megawatt---it seems like we should stay with full length wood to the tips of the core as the taper is long and gentle and poplar is lighter than plastic -------is there any trick to keeping the core pushed down on to the short base pins in such a rocker type curved bottom mold---? seems like a potential to spring up off the pins prior to getting all the layers done and a pain to re-aline with all the goo --had this problem on first set of skis before using plastic preformed tips------------any ides?-----
