Hi,

as a lot of you here I guess, my second project is for my wife

But for some reasons I can't understand, she's addicted to skis, and I've the level of my 4 years old daughter if my 2 feet are not on the same board

So I need your opinion/advices on my shape

She's the kind of skiers that like to go fast and make wide turns on the slope, but also go out around the trees when pow is there. So I want to build her "everyday skis"
For what I know, she pushes a lot on the front of the shoes, enough to get blue legs at the end of the day. But I'm not sure how I have to include that on the shape
Also, she prefers skiing 100% for 3 hours and then stop
She's 156cm tall for 53kgs (5,1ft, 117 lbs)

Here is what I've done, feel free to comment
Overall Length 1580
Running Length 1100
Nose Length 280
Tail Length 200
Nose Width 120
Tail Width 110
Waist Width 91.72
Sidecut Radius 13000
Sidecut Bias 60
Stance Width 341
Stance Setback 60
Nose Height 64
Tail Height 33
Camber 8
Camber Setback 60

core will be full ash, 2-11-2, with a flat part at 11, 10cm on each side of the sidecut center (so -60mm)

any advices ? something wrong ?

Sounds like you got a winner. A wife who loves skiing hard and a good design. To see if you're in the ball park, take a look at what she skis on now and compare the 2 designs. Fix any of the short comings into the new ski.

I'm assuming you'll be using 19-22oz FG? This ski could be a on the firm side IMO because of the width (91.72mm) and the ash. If it were me I'd shorten the tip and tail to make a longer running length, most of my skis have a 140-160mm tip length and 60-80mm tail length.

I made skis for my daughters (about the same size as your wife). Basically I copied their commercial ski in length, made it a little bit wider and firmer. They both love them.

Only 1 way to know, build it! Let us know how it comes out.

thanks,

I'm using 840g FG (30oz ?) so I guess 11mm is too much
I'll probably go with 10 so

I'm still not sur about the tip and tail shape. I want to keep the size for the camber/rocker, but maybe increase the running length. so have the widest point in the rocker part.

my guess is that it can add easiness (does that word exist?) on the pow, or at lower speed, but if you go harder, you find some kind of extra length. But it became more complexe, and I like keep it simple also

I need some sleepless night to think about it

I'll tell you this, going from 11 to 10 in the middle is taking a pretty big swing at it. 10 might be a little soft.
When you are profiling the core take some time to flex it periodically, you can tell a lot about the flex that you will end up with.
I think your design sounds good enough to try, you never know.
She might love it!

Hi,

I've done some changes
Image

Overall Length 1580 > 1590
Running Length 1100 > 1150
Nose Length 280 > 250
Tail Length 200 > 190
Nose Width 120 > 120
Tail Width 110 > 108
Waist Width 91.72 > 91.189
Sidecut Radius 13000 > 14500
Sidecut Bias 60 > 0
Stance Setback 60 > 60
Nose Height 64 > 61
Tail Height 33 > 36
Camber 8
Camber Setback 60

I also plan to make some kind of rocker, starting 7cm before the contact point of the tip, and 3 cm before the tail

I'm still not sure about the sidecut center. Have to search here as I'm sure it a reccurent talk
