Has anybody used West System's g/flex to attach ptex sidewalls to core's? If so how did it work?

I have never used it but it gets lots of rave reviews on tgr for replacing sections of edge, base, and sidewall, abs and uhmw.
Bet it works great.

Talked to the guy from West Systems and he also said that would work great. The G/Flex as the name implies will flex and not snap off or break, also it is compatiable with other West System epoxy. He said you could add it to the 105 system and make it more flexiable.

been thinking about using G-Flex myself for gluing sidewall and edges. By description should be better product compared to contact adhesive or PU glue. I surprised nobody mentioned about it before

Finding the right adhesive is only half the problem - have you considered this - its cheaper:

no I didn't know about this stuff. Even better if it's cheaper and looks like ski specific.
Don't know about prices because they not showing on the website... looks like need to create account first.

I think I bought from ebay at around £6.00. I still have the bonding samples created to test four adhesives, so shout if you would like the photo.

I would have a good look at SHIF's blog, as the adhesive is only half the problem, putting it through the planer is the other issue.

I made little bit of research, few phone calls and was told this stuff about the same if not identical as a epoxy you would buy the local hardware store.
So for now looks like we're going back to square one... G-flex

Here in the northwest we have gorcery stores called Fred Myer. They sell the Devcon brand and I always consider this stuff "low grade" 5 minute epoxy. Now I have used the Permatex brand on other stuff and it has worked well, just not on UHMW.

Lol - OK, the technical sheet must be wrong, the conversations I had deceitful and my own testing is an illusion.

It would be interesting to here what the practical results are from using g-flex. Although the problem remains a two fold issue; find a product that it good enough to sustain a bond while it is passed through a planner.

I called them up and ask and it was suggested to go to any box store and get ANY slow curing epoxy.

I don't need to. This is one of the reason I decide to go router bridge root. I think this direction offer more flexibility and control

I've used G-Flex for repairs. Primarily in fixing delaminations. I tried the slow cure Loctite stuff first and the bond broke after one day out on the snow. Next I tried the G-Flex and my snowboard has held up for two more seasons and still going. Granted I'm not a park rat so it doesn't take that style of abuse but I ride pretty hard elsewhere on the mountain.
