I was showing a guy my POLY-U ski tonight. He asked how they skied and told him I'd never go back to a commercial ski. They're so much more lively and fun, they hold on ice or hard pack just as well or better. Of course it depends on the make up of the ski but overall, they are great. I haven't ruled out buying a commercial racing ski.... yet. But I've been having good results racing on my Poly-U ski so....sammer wrote:Yuptwizzstyle wrote:I haven't skied on a commercial ski in about 3 years. I used to still take some up as backup, just in case something broke, but no longer. It is such an awesome feeling to break free and trust (and enjoy!) your own hard work!skidesmond wrote:That's great! I have yet to ski on my commercial skis this year. My last 2 pair have been so much fun I see no reason to go back.
I tried a pair of ARG's last year, took them out for a couple days cat skiing, but other than that haven't skied anything but my own "product" for a few years now
Nice work Jan! Nice style!

IMHO I think all the plastic used in the average ski makes it too damp/dead. And on hardpack and/or icy conditions they are too soft and result in too much chatter.
