I'm being lazy and not researching for myself. but reading about bamboo got me interested. Where would I find some bamboo lumber. About how much is it?

D'oh! Do some research. It can be hit or miss, depending on who you've got access to locally. I get my bamboo flooring boards super cheap from a place here in Seattle, about $25 for 8 boards (4" wide, 6ft long). Some people pay hundreds, so... you've got to do some searching. I get mine from Bamboo Hardwoods.

A summary video of our two weeks in Hokkaido, Japan Feb 2012.
First ski trip taking only my own skis (and only skis 115mm underfoot!).
Hope you enjoy it

Wow! Incredible snow! I never think of Japan as a skiing destination. What's the flight time to get there?

8815km from LAX to Tokyo Narita Airport - so about 10.5 hours I guess
It is just under 10 hours from Sydney, Australia to Tokyo (7797km).
Where we were is another 1 hour domestic flight from Tokyo (up north on Hokkaido).

Nice falls, are those graphics screen printed? I like the bamboo veneer.

Very very nice! I think you need more sidecut though :)

yep. it's a much more realistic ski for Australian snow (read: ice!)

The graphics are black acrylic paint. I use a vinyl sticker as a stencil, fill in the gaps with paint then peel the vinyl off leaving the graphic. Works well if the graphic you are going for isn't too small or intricate. Less mess than screen printing especially when you are only doing one pair at a time rather than a longer production run.
