Music to build skis by ...

Post by Richuk »

Thought it would be really interesting to receive a few suggestions ... I seem to spend a lot of time listening to these guys on the iplayer

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0100rp6

These guys share a really dry sense of humour and a deep knowledge of music - not too FOGGY either : ) Enjoy!

I tend to listen to the playlist that I listen to while skiing. Anything from AC/DC, Coldplay,Metallica, rush, Motörhead, foo fighters, pearl jam, janes addiction, violent femmes, kid rock, nickleback and many others. Anything that is hard rock, grunge, classic rock, alternative.

There's a school of thought that your materials can absorb the energy of music during manufacturing so music during layup could just be the most important element of how your skis/board ride. Pretty sure the guy from Wagner customs is big into this theory.

Ha! I love this theory!

I put speakers in the ceiling of my shop when I first bought my house, so I've always got music on loud when I'm out there. But I'm a bit of a closet hipster, so my music tends to be things like arcade fire, beirut, magnetic fields... etc

The shop is too noisy so I'd never hear the music anyway. But I usually listen to http://www.mvyradio.com/ when working at home. Used to listen to www.wrnx.com but it just went country 2 weeks ago, and it looks like the website is down. I like country, but in small doses.

I love listening to these guys when I'm grinding:

Vinman, here's a bit of trivia from before your time. The shout out at a Primus concert is "Primus Sucks!" It kinda means the opposite :D those guys are genius. Not your average slop and drivel.

I still totally love 'em when I'm base grinding, there's just something about tossing boards through the autofeed or leaning on a bad spot to that. Goes quick haha

just sayin'

Having never seen them in concert I wouldn't have know that, good one. Not before my time though.

Might have to make a Jesus build my hot rod model.
