my first design

I'm getting closer where I can start work and to make mold.

design skis it's not something I've done before and not really sure what to expect from my design.

will be standard layout with Maple core 20 oz triax glass. most likely for first pair I will have Maple sidewall uhmw will be used later.

My advice, just start making skis and figure out what you like. Its the process that is the most enjoyable part.

Just like what I am about to make next!

If "sidecut bias" means how far behind centre the waist of the ski is then I would bring it forward a touch. Maybe set back 80-100mm from ski centre instead of the 150mm you have in your design.

I noticed 150 when picture was posted. Actually my intention was to make it 100mm. I don't know how sidecut bias will affect ski performance. One reason I use it so thickest point of the ski wil be under the heel of the boot.

also I didn't know my core profile will work.
2mm nose 380mm tapered up to 7mm just before the binding then up to 10 mm at about where a brakes on heel piece of the binding will be and tapered down to 2mm at the tail.this way it should be somewhat stiffer tips and slightly softer tail.
