Well this stuff is stupid expensive and kind of tough to deal with a group buy I feel.
Mark at CDW never emailed me back.

Here is the contact and quote so If y'all (gman) want some wide stuff its min 910USD it looks like for the 12 inch wide at 100meters?
I dunno.
I'm just sticking with the 1" wide 50 buck rolls from cdw I think.

Hello Mr. Madman... :D

Ha, did that guy have a good sense of humor, or did he really think your last name was 'Madman'. Wait a minute... maybe your last name actually is Madman. At any rate, thanks for passing along the info. I'm not quite sure what he's saying, but I guess it doesn't really matter because, like you say, it seems like a tough way to go, unless you just happen to be passing through Austria.

Not sure what the minimums are on wider stuff, can't remember but we are usually only ordering around 450-600m of it at 6" wide (we've cut the amount of 6" stuff we've been using by 2/3 since our first year, as it proved unneeded).
Hi Iggy. You were using the 6" wide stuff originally to cover each side of the tipspacers in the layup, right? You found this not necessary?

Originally, yes. But we found it wasn't needed. Now we just use them in the tips and tails over the edges/base.

They can send to NA, its just insanely expensive, even if we split a roll, for me at least, and no my name is not madman although I may change it soon.

Maybe I would do 50 meters of 6 inch?
Still cost 225 before shipping.

I altered the email to protect what little interweb anonymity I may still retain.

Iggy that great news, I though you had a fugton of rubber in those early BG's. ;)

Oh, I believe its a lady at haberkorn, Gabriele?

I thought you were in for 5 rolls big-G? :D

As I said, I do have 300m of 155mm (6.1") Ask Asher Sheet we would be willing to let go for $2.67/m, plus no shipping from Europe. It is in (2) 150m rolls. We're super busy right now so I would prefer to not have to break it up ourselves, but if people really wanted and the quantities were larger (50m+), I could probably have an intern do it at some point...

Hey MM,

Yes, I'd be into getting a big bunch if the price were more attractive. However, according to my late night math, a 12 inch x 100 meter roll at $910 works out to be $.75 per 1 inch x 1 meter. At $50 for a 70 meter roll from CDW, the price for the same sized piece is $.71. If I had a need for VDS wider than 1 inch, I'd consider the 12 inch wide roll, even at $910, but I only use 1 inch wide VDS. Still, if Mark at CDW said that he'd bring in some 12 inch wide rolls at $425 each if we could get a group order for a total of 20 rolls, I'd be in for 4 or 5 rolls. But, Mark hasn't said that, or anything like that, as far as I know. So, for now, I'll stick with the 1 inch rolls from CDW. When it comes to VDS, I like to keep a fairly good inventory on hand, just in case the supply should suddenly dry up. I'm actually more interested in a reliable supply than I am in the price.

Best regards,

I have extra materials I'm willing to sell (fiberglass, some base, VDS and edges). The VDS is 20 mm wide. I'll have more edges in about 6 weeks. Let me know if you need anything.

Please note that I am no longer affiliated with the old Skibuilders.com store -- the old store is under new management, with a new name, and not affiliated with SkiBuilders LLC (you should see the changes in a few weeks). Thus, what I offer has no connection with the old store or SkiBuilders LLC.
