Wood Core Expansion/Contraction: Any one have any issues?

Post by Wooden Skis »

Has anyone ever had issues with wood cores expanding/contracting or does anyone know the science behind this? Even kiln dried wood will natural expand and shrink with the season and with heat and moisture.

Additionally does Epoxy when cured allow for any expansion/contraction? Or is it brittle when cured?

With a heated press does the wood expand and then shrink after it cools?

THANKS!
