My first post on the site but been looking for a while.
I hope this has not been asked before I have searched and couldn't find answer.

I am in the planning and designing stages of making a freecarve/alpine (hardboot) snowboard.
I am wondering if there is an industry standard for the spacing of 4x4 inserts from front foot to back foot??

if you mean the stance width you should go with something that suits the riders needs.
e.g. i have only four inserts for each binding since i don't change my stance.

if you mean the spacing between each hole, that would be 4cm measured from the center of the hole across the board width and 2cm or 4cm along the board depending on how many inserts you want to use.

Yes I did mean the stance width.
Reason I asked was that the race board manufacturers are now working to the UPM Pattern (Universal Plate Mount) which has become an industry standard. So that made me wonder if there was a general industry standard for the 4x4 stance width also, I didn’t think there was.

Thanks

im not an expert when it comes to race boards...maybe they do have a standard.
but for other boards i've never heard of such a thing.
