Don't know if you guys allready know, but this book has a lot of good data on different types of wood, (and a bunch of other stuff about wood), especially chapter 5 Mechanical properties is good.

i spent half a semester at school testing on this book. great tables on strength, commercially available lumber, and adhesives. its a lot of paper (wood!) if you want to print it out as a reference, but def a couple chapters that should be available for reference in the shop.
nice find!

happy turkey day!

http://www.injured-riders.com/uploads/

woods.xlxs is an excel sheet of all the woods from that pdf, i made it so i can graph woods against eachother, little easier than comparing page to page

right click and save as please

Edit-

dont mind the spelling, there was much wine involved in the formating of this sheet

sweeeet, downloaded it and made a metric section in "sheet 3", so that i can understand it :P (we tend to struggle a little bit with the imperial system over here in Europe).
