I'm about to order my base material from the store but am wondering which of these two I should choose? From what I've read the Sintered base is more durable and will accept more wax? Both blue types on the site are only $1 difference so would it be a better idea to get the 4001?
Also, the ski dimensions are 158-118-144, or close to that and it says 2 meters will do a pair of skis. The tip width is 15.8 cm's so 31.6 cm's for two and the sheets are 33 cm wide so we should have a tiny bit left over right?
Thanks for the help any suggestions would be great as well.
Isospeed 4400 or Durasurf 4001 Sintered????

Ahh, wide skis... gotta love em (my last pair was a mere 150 at the tips, dwarfed by your monsters!)
Is the Isospeed not sintered? If its not, sure go with the sintered stuff, although you may not notice a difference. If it's only a $1 difference, why not.
And yes you'll be fine with that width, you don't really need any excess when cutting bases cause you'll be cutting it down to the exact size anyways.

2m is just the length of the piece you'll get. As long as your skis are shorter than 200cm, you'll have plenty of extra length to work with.JoeBob wrote:Thanks for the info and yeah the Iso is sintered so I'm going to go with that. It says 2m's should do a pair so I'm about to buy it and get rocking. This has been quite the process but I'm about ready to finish!
