Do you think that a compressor of this kind would be good for a vacuum press? Do you know something about this company? (Gast)

I also thaught: Would it be possible to create a strong enough pressure with a "vacuvin"(its used to empty the air from openeed wine bottles, with a special cap) You need to pull the handle, thus taking the air out of the bottle, the same thing could be done in a vacuum bag, but do you think it would be possible to reach a good vacuum pressure with this really BS system? I already have one at home so i will do some test on it, but still give me your opinion about it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Yes on the GAST, no on the wine pump. Gast pumps are probably the most used vacuum pumps, I have a gast and love it (although I don't use it for skis as we have a firehose press). They're designed to run continuously.

The wine pump hypothetically could get full vacuum, but its going to take you hours to suck all the air out, and once you do, you're never guaranteed to be leak free so you'll be sitting there pumping for hours.
