A bunch of last second questions

A buddy and I are planning on going down to the Home Depot today to start making our press. I was there a few weeks ago, but only for a few minutes. I was in that time able to get a good look at their available MDF boards. So my first question is, how many boards (either 3/4 or 1/2 or any other width) should be lined across to make the mold of a 100 under foot width ski?? Also, whats the deal on an adjustable press, with different lengths, but the same tip and stuff? Will I have to make more than 1 press? Also, are their free CAD for the mold itself (I have snoCAD-X, but that only does skis). And the final question I can think of (for now), can I use flooring for my core, like this (Please note, this is any random wood, that I clicked solely for use of example!!):
http://www.homedepot.com/Flooring-Hardw ... ogId=10053.
Sorry for asking so much. Thanks in advance, and I will post anymore questions.

6 foot long flooring boards make excellent core planks. I've made several skis using vertically laminated bamboo flooring. Bamboo is not wood and it does not like going through the planer when making the profile tapers, it eats knives like crazy. It does behave well during sawing and sanding operations.
In the future, PLEASE search the forums extensively before posting fundamental questions.
Cheers,
-S

If you can't figure this out, then you probably shouldn't even try to build a ski. Seriously, just stop now....
This site needs more moderation IMHO. There is more then enough information to get someone started just on the main page, and if you have questions beyond that then this really isn't the project for you.

This place is loaded with answers... use the search function, read the 'How To', 'Articles' on the home page

SnowCad-X can make skis and snowboards. Play around with it. You can print the profile of a ski and use that as you mold template.... Get creative, inventive, ...... We don't mind questions but show some initiative too.... and when all else fails ask. Good luck

Agreed. Over half of these pointless threads should be deleted immediately. I nominate krp for the job!

Oh dear.
Google search "arithmetic" and you'll figure things out.

Then what?
Just kidding, I got it (I didn't know how much extra wood. I got the answer.) Thanks all
